Challenges

At the end of the exchange, all participants got three challenges that they had to fulfill. All challenges were connected to visibility and spreading results. The idea was born by the participants at the APV.

Thanks to all participants for this amazing contributing sharing your experience!

Here are some statements from participants:

Throwback to best days of Summer’17, I had the greatest time spending time with you on Fylla, making new unforgettable memories and friendships, gaining new skills, learning about other cultures and the importance of teamwork. I missed everyone and I hope to see you all again. #sd2017 #Erasmusplus #YoYo

Sailing democracy; Unfortunately, it was over 5 days ago. Like every nice thing, this wonderful project is over quickly. I met many wonderful people. Yes we are all in a different place in the world maybe but we are a big family. You will think Latvia, Greece, Turkey and Denmark are different from each other, but we realize that we all need each other to exist. This project was about recognizing the real purpose democracy and creating our own democracy. We managed our utopia in the field of camp. We went on board the ship and organized workshops here. We had wonderful workshop but I missed some because of seasick :))). We all worked in the kitchen, the deck was cleaned up and all the rest of the ship. While doing these things, Spice Girls' Wannabe song was a great contribution to us :))) Karin I am grateful to JBL for you. I could never do without music :)) The most memorable moment was for me to learn everyone's Turkish local dance ''damat halayı''. I have had incredible fun, I have very beautiful memories now. I will never and never forget.

I've recently done the greatest and best thing I can do for myself. I was a bit worried about myself at the beginning but then I felt much better thanks to the people around me. I learned a lot of new things, some of which I'll need all my life, and some that I will laugh as I come to mind. I have always been interested in seeing new places and meeting new people. This amazing project I have participated in has taught me a lot about this and also about being a family. I would like to thank Elif Serbest for providing support for this project. I also especially thank Karin for organizing this incredible project. And I would also like to thank Dogan for his help and advice as a leader in this project, but we also made a great friendship at the same time. I appreciate good wishes and notes on all my friends I met on the project. And all those who read it, I suggest that they take place as soon as possible on wonderful projects like this. Be sure there is a lot you can win.I've recently done the greatest and best thing I can do for myself. Five reasons why I recommend Erasmus+ projects:

  1. You meet new people:
    1. You will meet new and wonderful people. You will make friends. I feel like all the people that I met, were very open minded. You could discuss loads of things with everyone and most of them would have a different opinion. Maybe not very different but different. And everyone accepted that others had their opinions for certain reasons. Nobody said that an opinion was wrong, but instead tried to understand why others have these opinions. I have learned a lot from that and I will try to be more open minded.
  2. You learn about other cultures:
    1. I have learned about 4 very different cultures. I learned about the Danish, Latvian, Turkish and Greek cultures. I previously had very limited knowledge about any of these cultures (even though I live in Denmark I didn’t know much about the culture). I now know slightly more, but not enough to brag about it.
  3. You get tasty food:
    1. Because of the mix of cultures, there is a lot of varied food, and as a person who likes eating, this was great for me. I thought that it was very different and varied food that we had, but it was all very interesting.
  4. It’s an experience of a lifetime:
    1. I will never forget the great times I had in that camp and on Fylla. Weather it was cleaning the toilets or chilling in the camp or on deck, I loved every part of it. It will follow me forever, and I look forward to remembering every single one of the participants with a smile on my face.
  5. Everyone is a stranger:
    1. When you start the project you won’t necessarily know anyone in the project. That makes it easier to talk to people and not care about what others think. You can be much more relaxed than normal, because nobody has any background knowledge of each other.

All in all it is the best experience that I have ever had and I wish I were still there.
